Hi, my name is Brent and I have been a qualified mechanic since 1994. I have worked in several small workshops over the years on all makes and models. In 2002 I was foreman of a Holden dealership for 2 years and then managed and worked the used car mechanical side of the same dealership for 10 more years. During this time used car deliveries were at its peak selling up to 120 per month. I obtained my roadworthy certification during this period and became head RWC and vehicle inspector.
I like to take my time checking over a car as there are so many different components to inspect. I work for myself and don't try to push the job out in an hour, from my experience on-site that is in no way a comprehensive inspection. I will jack the car up and remove the stone cover under the vehicle. This will allow a full view of the underside of the engine and transmission. Whilst under the car I will check for structural damage, cv boots, suspension steering rack and boots, and any oil leaks that could be a future expensive repair. I will check your tyres and brake components, fluid levels, service history, visual engine check, driveline, and more. I will also test-drive the car. The whole inspection will take at least 1.5 to 2 hours. I will give you a written report on the vehicle, and plenty of photos and we can discuss the report in person or in a lot of cases over the phone.
