Over the years, I have worked in several small workshops on all makes and models, gaining extensive experience in mechanical inspections. In 2002, I served as the foreman of a Holden dealership for 2 years, after which I managed the used car mechanical side of the same dealership for 10 more years. During this busy period, we often handled up to 120 used car deliveries per month. I obtained my roadworthy certification and became the head RWC and vehicle inspector, further enhancing my skills in mobile car inspections and pre-purchase inspections.
My mobile car inspections typically take about 2 hours. Following the completion of the inspection, I will send you a detailed report via WhatsApp or email within 2 hours. I believe it's important to take my time when performing mechanical inspections, as there are numerous components that require thorough checking. Since I work for myself, I don’t rush through the job; from my experience on-site, a comprehensive pre-purchase inspection cannot be completed in just one hour. During the inspection, I will elevate the car on ramps and remove the stone cover beneath the vehicle. This provides a complete view of the underside of the engine and transmission. While under the car, I will look for structural damage, inspect CV boots, the suspension steering rack, and boots, and examine for any oil leaks that could lead to costly repairs down the line. Additionally, I will check your tyres, brake components, fluid levels, service history, conduct a visual engine check, assess the driveline, inspect for rust issues, measure paint thickness, and more. A test drive of the car will also be part of the inspection. You'll receive a written report on the vehicle, complete with numerous photos, and we can discuss the findings over the phone.
